Steve Harvey’s “Family Feud” is coming to Africa

Steve Harvey

Steve Harvey

Yesterday I attended the media launch of Family Feud Africa, where Steve Harvey, the Emmy® Award-winning entertainer, radio personality, motivational speaker, New York Times best-selling author, businessman and philanthropist, announced that he would also be hosting the local versions for South Africa and Ghana. The show will be produced by the award-winning production company Rapid Blue.

FAMILY FEUD is a popular international television game show, which was first broadcast in the USA in 1976. Since then, it has had many different hosts, with Steve Harvey taking up this position since 2010. In order to obtain the rights to the format license for the African versions of Family Feud, Steve Harvey’s international business and media company, STEVE HARVEY GLOBAL, entered into an agreement with FREMANTLEMEDIA LIMITED. The show has seen exponential ratings increases under Harvey, and he is on track to become the longest-serving host in Family Feud history.

The iconic game show, in which two families compete to name the most popular responses to gathered survey questions in order to win cash and prizes, has been a beloved part of people’s lives, from generation to generation. It has generated adaptations in over 50 international markets. Family Feud Africa will be the first international version of the show to be hosted by Steve Harvey.

The New VW T-Cross SUV

The new Volkswagen T-Cross is here and to create the ultimate car launch, Volkswagen’s creating the ultimate city, the ultimate urban playground: T-Cross City.

T-Cross City initially lives online, but with enough audience interaction on the microsite, areas will open up week-by-week until it’s eventually built as an actual, real-life city for fans to explore and enjoy for free on 21 and 22 September 2019 at Montecasino’s outdoor area.

Always innovating with their launches, this latest event is taking Volkswagen to new heights, literally. Think of a giant film set with scaffold and facades, housing exciting, engaging experiences such as a raised rooftop party structure and an intimate, opulent jazz club.  All of the pop-up areas will be curated by top names in the industry who’ll be rallying their fans to ensure that they get a spot at the spectacular event.

Driving the new Volkswagen T-Cross gives you the freedom to make your own choices, which is why they’re giving fans the choice of experiences to include at T-Cross City.

Visit www.TCrossCity.co.za, select the experience that best represents your idea of fun city living and you’ll get two tickets to the event with a bite to eat and a drink included. Your tickets will be for the full event, not just one experience.  Register soon though, before they’re all gone.

Decade Festival featuring Robin S, Crystal Waters, Black Box, Boom Shaka & MarcAlex

I’m a child of the 1980’s and spent the greater part of my teenage years in the 1990s, listening to the artists featured in the Decade Festival.

I remember dancing to “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)” by Crystal Waters, “Show me Love” by Robin S  and “Ride on Time” by Black Box.

Here are the music videos to jog your memory:

Bianca Del Rio’s “It’s Jester Joke” 2019 Tour

Comedy queen and RuPaul’s Drag Race champion Bianca Del Rio is heading back to Africa by popular demand.

On her most ambitious world solo drag show to date, the self-proclaimed ‘Clown in a Gown’ tells tales of her world travels and the outrageous circus that is her life. Irreverent to the core and fabulously fierce, Bianca’s no-holds-barred style of comedy will once again shock and delight audiences. With her acerbic wit, a ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ manner and hilarious views on everything from politics to family, social media and all that lies in between, Bianca Del Rio has garnered a massive international following and has become one the biggest drag superstars in the world today.

My weekend with the Volvo XC40

I was super excited when it was announced that I had won the use of the all new Volvo XC40 for a weekend, at the Cosmopolitan Hustle Summit last month. (read about it on my Instagram page here).

It just so happens that I have been looking at new cars because my BMW X3 was recently in the shop for repairs, for a few times. I now have a new car for my vision board in the shape of the Volvo XC40.

So, anyway, here’s my very lay person, non-motoring journalist review of this awesome vehicle. There will be no talk about torque, because who even uses words like that in real life? I will be looking at features, speed, luxury and of course, price.

Take a look at this video that I created, which gives you an idea of my driving experience.

Please note that this is a vertical video.
