The Bodyguard makes its South African premiere in March 2027, proudly presented by Showtime Management. Based on the iconic film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, the musical brings the story of superstar Rachel Marron and her bodyguard, Frank Farmer, to the stage. When fame, danger and desire collide, an unexpected romance unfolds, backed by some of Whitney Houston’s biggest hits, including “I Will Always Love You”, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, “Queen of the Night”, “I Have Nothing”, “Run to You” and “So Emotional”.

The Bodyguard opens at Artscape in Cape Town on 12 March 2027 before transferring to the Teatro at Montecasino in Johannesburg on 23 April 2027. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster, the exclusive ticketing agent.

Michael Movie Review

“Michael” is an intense cinematic ride and perfectly captures the King of Pop’s life from 1966 to 1988.

Watching it on the newly opened largest IMAX screen in Gauteng at The Zone @ Rosebank made the experience even more unforgettable. The visuals, the sound, and the overall atmosphere elevated every moment on screen.

This film pulls you in with powerful storytelling, strong performances, especially from Jaafar Jackson as Michael, and emotional moments that stay with you long after the credits roll. It’s bold, gripping, and beautifully shot, with a soundtrack that adds even more depth to the experience.

For me, Michael Jackson was such an integral part of my teens and tweens. His music, his energy, and his larger-than-life presence shaped so many memories from that time. Watching this film felt nostalgic, emotional, and a reminder of just how much of an impact he had on an entire generation.

Nine Lives Supper Club Review

Nine Lives Supper Club is a hidden gem tucked away in a sleek, sophisticated oasis between the 4th and 5th floors of The Hyde Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

I attended the launch, and it was pure magic. Sleek lines, stylish design, and just the right kind of quiet, yet sexy, luxury that Joburg has been craving. The menu may be small, but every bite is a masterpiece. Their smoked olives are a revelation, and the cocktails/mocktails are worth every rand. Plus, they’ve even got Russian caviar flown in fresh from Moldova. It’s on the pricier side, but this is what you expect from a spot this refined.

Overall, Nine Lives is a sophisticated, sexy supper club, where you can experience curated tapas type food and drinks, with a small selection of main courses.
