Enjoy the Rugby World Cup with Heineken®

I can’t say that I am the world’s best rugby fan, mainly because I don’t understand the rules of the game. But that does not mean that I cannot enjoy the match! I am certainly looking forward to the Rugby World Cup final on Saturday, 2 November, now that I know South Africa has made it through, after they beat Wales 19 to 16, yesterday. So, England plays South Africa in the final this Saturday. Fingers and toes crossed for us!

But what fun activities can one have till the final match?

Heineken® has launched the #TeamHeineken Experience, an interactive activation set to thrill rugby and non-rugby fans ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2019™knockout phase.

The activation was unveiled at the Rosebank Mall in Johannesburg, demonstrating that everyone can enjoy the spirit of the tournament, whether they know the rules of the game or not.

Nestlé launches Starbucks at Home

A few days ago, I attended the launch of a new range of coffee products from Nestlé, under the Starbucks brand, held at the elegant Ferguson’s on 5th in Illovo, Johannesburg. The new range consists of 17 products, including whole bean, roast and ground coffees, as well as the first-ever Starbucks capsules developed using Nespresso and Nescafé Dolce Gusto proprietary coffee and system technologies, in South Africa.

This is the first product launch in Africa since NESTLÉ and Starbucks formally joined forces and created a global coffee alliance in August 2018.

These are the influencers chosen to represent the brand and they include @takkies7 and @claudiahenkelza, together with Bruno Olierhoek, CEO of NESTLÉ South Africa.

“We are very pleased to bring these new ranges of exciting and premium coffee products to consumers in South Africa. The partnership with Starbucks brings three of the world’s most iconic brands together – Nescafé, Nespresso and Starbucks. The global coffee alliance will, over time, transform, expand and elevate, both the in-home and out of home coffee market, bringing innovation and better offerings to a larger number of consumers” said Bruno Olierhoek, CEO of NESTLÉ South Africa.

The Starbucks range of coffee, co-developed between NESTLÉ and Starbucks, will be available from September 2019 in these retailers: Checkers, Pick ‘n Pay, Spar and Makro.

Steve Harvey’s “Family Feud” is coming to Africa

Steve Harvey

Steve Harvey

Yesterday I attended the media launch of Family Feud Africa, where Steve Harvey, the Emmy® Award-winning entertainer, radio personality, motivational speaker, New York Times best-selling author, businessman and philanthropist, announced that he would also be hosting the local versions for South Africa and Ghana. The show will be produced by the award-winning production company Rapid Blue.

FAMILY FEUD is a popular international television game show, which was first broadcast in the USA in 1976. Since then, it has had many different hosts, with Steve Harvey taking up this position since 2010. In order to obtain the rights to the format license for the African versions of Family Feud, Steve Harvey’s international business and media company, STEVE HARVEY GLOBAL, entered into an agreement with FREMANTLEMEDIA LIMITED. The show has seen exponential ratings increases under Harvey, and he is on track to become the longest-serving host in Family Feud history.

The iconic game show, in which two families compete to name the most popular responses to gathered survey questions in order to win cash and prizes, has been a beloved part of people’s lives, from generation to generation. It has generated adaptations in over 50 international markets. Family Feud Africa will be the first international version of the show to be hosted by Steve Harvey.
