Yesterday I attended the media launch of Family Feud Africa, where Steve Harvey, the Emmy® Award-winning entertainer, radio personality, motivational speaker, New York Times best-selling author, businessman and philanthropist, announced that he would also be hosting the local versions for South Africa and Ghana. The show will be produced by the award-winning production company Rapid Blue.

FAMILY FEUD is a popular international television game show, which was first broadcast in the USA in 1976. Since then, it has had many different hosts, with Steve Harvey taking up this position since 2010. In order to obtain the rights to the format license for the African versions of Family Feud, Steve Harvey’s international business and media company, STEVE HARVEY GLOBAL, entered into an agreement with FREMANTLEMEDIA LIMITED. The show has seen exponential ratings increases under Harvey, and he is on track to become the longest-serving host in Family Feud history.

The iconic game show, in which two families compete to name the most popular responses to gathered survey questions in order to win cash and prizes, has been a beloved part of people’s lives, from generation to generation. It has generated adaptations in over 50 international markets. Family Feud Africa will be the first international version of the show to be hosted by Steve Harvey.
