KitKat Chocolatory Pop Up Store

I recently attended the media launch of the Nestlé KITKAT Chocolatory – a unique Pop Up store that will offer chocolate lovers an opportunity to experience personalised and handcrafted chocolate creations. The four-week pop-up store will be located at Mall of Africa, Midrand, Johannesburg, from 24 November 2018.

Members of the media and a handful of personalities were treated to a sneak preview of what South Africans can expect at the KITKAT Chocolatory Pop Up. Hosted by radio DJ and TV Personality, Tumi Vorster and held in Johannesburg at the Chocolate Academy in Fourways, we were afforded a unique opportunity to be the first in South Africa to experience the journey in the making of creating the perfect break. Amongst the celebrities attending were the effervescent Taryn Louch, also known as LittleMissLouch, LikeHome page curator and former Miss South Africa, Vanessa Carreira-Coutroulis, “My Kitchen Rules SA” contestants Donald Chipumha and Luyanda Mafanya, as well as Food blogger Steve Steinfeld and celebrity chef, Chef Nti.

Kentse Masilo wins Project Runway SA

It was recently announced that Kentse Masilo is the first winner of the inaugural Project Runway South Africa.

She was presented with her wonderful prizes, which included a new hybrid Lexus car, and I was there to share in her special moment! Here is some footage and photos of her special day.

L to R: Olive Ndebele (GM of Menlyn Mall, one of the sponsors), Winner, Kentse Masilo, myself and Nozipho from Pareto Limited Shopping Centres

Mzansi Magic & Ndalo Pictures, in association with 4th STREET Wines and their production partners, Rapid Blue, proudly announced the winner of Project Runway SA, Kentse Masilo, the futuristic designer who wowed the judges from the very first challenge with her design aesthetics and origami-inspired garments.

Kentse made it no secret that she was here to claim her fame, saying things on the show like, “This is my game, I’m gonna take this home”. She’s not just taking it home, she’s also taking it to Paris, where she’ll feature as a pop up store at the 2019 Paris Fashion Week.

Soft Glam Evening Make-Up Look

I used to be a TV Producer and I would accompany celebrity guests whom I had booked for our show, to hair and make-up. The irony is that I never got a “face beat” myself, until today. I usually wear minimal everyday make-up, but one can create “red carpet” looks with one’s own make-up and brushes. My niece, @nurul’ayncassiem @_foxybeauty is the Make-Up Artist (MUA) who done my “soft glam evening” look in this post. She used items from my own make-up drawers such as @essence_cosmetics @maccosmetics @maybelline and @woolworths_sa.

A lot of talent and skill is needed to become a Make-Up Artist, as you are literally transforming someone’s appearance from drab to fab! Should you wish to book Nurul-Ayn Cassiem, please contact her via Hello.foxybeauty@gmail.com or follow her on Instagram @_Foxybeauty.

Take a look at my transformation in this vertical video or check it out on my IG TV channel here.

Edgars Home Launch

Edgars recently re-launched its Homeware range, now called Edgars Home, at a very exclusive and innovative experience at a beautiful show house in the upmarket suburb of River Club, in Johannesburg.

Invited guests, including media and Edgars Home suppliers, were able to walk through the house, which was entirely decorated with Edgars products and in particular, their new and luxurious Hotel Collection as well as the fashionable Private Collection. I was very impressed!

Seeing all their homeware products on display made me feel like I was walking through one of the very popular home décor or home improvement television show locations. This left me feeling very inspired, with many new ideas of how I can implement the looks back at my own home, and quite a few more for my vision board!

Women’s Health Live Festival

October was the start of my return to gym! The long time wasted gym membership debit orders that go off on the 1st of each month, into the gym abyss, has come to an end! Let me back track a little … towards the end of 2015, I needed an operation which, after 3 weeks out of hospital, led to a blood clot, which led to a pulmonary embolism in my lungs, which almost killed me. It took about 2 years to feel like my usual self, although my left leg and foot will never be the same again. Hence, I did not feel healthy enough to venture into a gym. Thank the powers that be, that now I can at least walk on a treadmill for 30 minutes at a brisk level 5! Slowly but surely, I am getting there, literally one step at a time.

Since I am finally on a path to fitness, I am delighted to tell you that on the 10th and 11th of November 2018, Women’s Health (WH) magazine are launching the first ever Women’s Health Live Festival – a weekend of wellness.

It will be held at The Wanderers Sports Club in Johannesburg. Think of it as a Coachella of Wellness – three stages (entitled Trends, Fitness and Inspiration) supported by amazing speakers, fascinating panel conversations and interviews led by the WH editors chatting to cover stars, celebrities, fit family, social influencers and experts who will be sharing stories, experiences, expertise and knowledge.
