Nelson Mandela Square Set To Sparkle This Festive Season

It’s time to put up the tree and turn on the festive lights, and Nelson Mandela Square is poised to host its prettiest festive season yet. The celebrated open air piazza is where art and entertainment will merge beautifully for the whole family to enjoy this holiday.

A mesmerising 10-metre-long lighting tunnel has been illuminated, providing a picture-perfect backdrop for a festive-themed selfie or family photograph. This is complemented by the majestic 7,2-metre-tall Dior Christmas tree, adorned with bespoke craftsmanship and a touch of luxury. This magnificent creation is not just a tree. It’s a testament to the artistry and dedication that the couture brand brings to every aspect of its craftsmanship, featuring custom-made trinkets, PVC & gold vinyl flowers and lighting that creates a play of light and shadows, all topped with the signature Dior logo and star.

The Anton Smit Urban Echoes exhibition, featuring 8 larger-than-life Easter Island-inspired sculptures, with graffiti by artist Mars, is still available to enjoy, while live entertainment on selected dates during December, will add to the festive ambience, completing a memorable day or night out.

Disney+ announced that, in celebration of the fourth season of “The Kardashians”, the streaming service from The Walt Disney Company is bringing an all-new, immersive experience to Gauteng this summer.

‘“The Kardashians Experience” is a unique, free pop-up event that will transport fans into the world of the famous family. Visitors will be able to enter a specially-branded airstream and stop by the glam station before creating their own “konfessional” to camera, which they will then be able to share on social media.

The iconic “konfessional” is a staple part of the series, where the famous family share their own views and thoughts on the latest drama and intrigue – and now fans can get a glimpse into the world of reality TV and create their own shareable social content.

Sandton City Set For A Magical Festive Season

The trees are up, the lights are on, and the joyful hum of gift wrapping has begun. Sandton City, Africa’s premier shopping destination, is orchestrating a symphony of excitement to ensure this festive season surpasses all expectations.

For starters, a uniquely crafted children’s’ theatre production, Momo’s Magical Adventure, is set to enchant shoppers of all ages, this coming holiday. Shows have started in a bespoke crafted tent in the centre court outside Checkers and will run until 7 January 2024. In this heart-warming tale, Momo’s friends have left Johannesburg for the summer holidays to go to the sea and she’s the only one left in the big city. Time has passed by slowly, but Momo’s favourite night of the year has finally arrived- it’s Christmas Eve! Four live performances of this charming production will take place daily at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 3.30pm and 5.30pm, from Tuesday to Sunday. Tickets are now available on the Sandton City website and selling fast.
