It is next stop Johannesburg for the revitalised Good Food & Wine Show, which will be bringing a menu bursting with delicious offerings and innovative experiences to the Ticketpro Dome from Friday, 29 to Sunday, 31 July 2016.

“Our aim this year, with revamping the Show’s look and feel, is to provide a more interactive, informative and entertaining offering packed with a profusion of immersive experiences to enjoy and trends to uncover,” says Maria Chieppa, Managing Director of Fiera Milano Exhibitions Africa – new owners of the show. “We struck gold with this recipe in Cape Town and will be dishing up more of the same at the Johannesburg show.”

The National Eatery & Speakeasy, located in Parktown North, Johannesburg, hosted food bloggers recently to showcase a selection of their signature dishes from their new Winter menu. Chef James Diack and his team gave us the menu below, allowing us to select our own preferred dishes. This I prefer to the little and many taste plates sometimes offered to us at such events. Being able to enjoy the full size portions allows me to experience their food exactly the way you will, when you visit The National.

3-D Printed Clothing Range

This is hard to believe, but clothes can now be created on 3D printers. What next?

Attendants to the annual Mercedes-Benz Bokeh South African International Fashion Film Festival will not only be experiencing a fabulously fashionable event including, awards, film screenings and workshops, but they will also be privy to an exclusive unveiling of a revolutionary 3-D printed clothing range from Modeclix. The dresses are created by Dr Shaun Borstrock from the University of Herfordshire in the UK in collaboration with Prof Mark Bloomfield from Electroboom and for the first time, offer a wearable 3-D printed clothing range. The Modeclix collection, featuring eight dresses and two headpieces, is a major breakthrough in 3-D printing and garment technology. Previous 3-D printed clothes were very structured and rigid this new range from Modeclix is uniquely customizable and flexible, mimicking the movement and drape of fabric.
