KitKat Chocolatory Pop Up Store

I recently attended the media launch of the Nestlé KITKAT Chocolatory – a unique Pop Up store that will offer chocolate lovers an opportunity to experience personalised and handcrafted chocolate creations. The four-week pop-up store will be located at Mall of Africa, Midrand, Johannesburg, from 24 November 2018.

Members of the media and a handful of personalities were treated to a sneak preview of what South Africans can expect at the KITKAT Chocolatory Pop Up. Hosted by radio DJ and TV Personality, Tumi Vorster and held in Johannesburg at the Chocolate Academy in Fourways, we were afforded a unique opportunity to be the first in South Africa to experience the journey in the making of creating the perfect break. Amongst the celebrities attending were the effervescent Taryn Louch, also known as LittleMissLouch, LikeHome page curator and former Miss South Africa, Vanessa Carreira-Coutroulis, “My Kitchen Rules SA” contestants Donald Chipumha and Luyanda Mafanya, as well as Food blogger Steve Steinfeld and celebrity chef, Chef Nti.

Women’s Health Live Festival

October was the start of my return to gym! The long time wasted gym membership debit orders that go off on the 1st of each month, into the gym abyss, has come to an end! Let me back track a little … towards the end of 2015, I needed an operation which, after 3 weeks out of hospital, led to a blood clot, which led to a pulmonary embolism in my lungs, which almost killed me. It took about 2 years to feel like my usual self, although my left leg and foot will never be the same again. Hence, I did not feel healthy enough to venture into a gym. Thank the powers that be, that now I can at least walk on a treadmill for 30 minutes at a brisk level 5! Slowly but surely, I am getting there, literally one step at a time.

Since I am finally on a path to fitness, I am delighted to tell you that on the 10th and 11th of November 2018, Women’s Health (WH) magazine are launching the first ever Women’s Health Live Festival – a weekend of wellness.

It will be held at The Wanderers Sports Club in Johannesburg. Think of it as a Coachella of Wellness – three stages (entitled Trends, Fitness and Inspiration) supported by amazing speakers, fascinating panel conversations and interviews led by the WH editors chatting to cover stars, celebrities, fit family, social influencers and experts who will be sharing stories, experiences, expertise and knowledge.

2018 Bokeh South African International Lifestyle and Fashion Film Festival

The theme for the event was “Tim Burton” hence the models, with Comedian, John Vlismas, were dressed like characters from “Alice in Wonderland.”

I had the honour of being invited to the Bokeh South African International Lifestyle and Fashion Film Festival last week, at a lavish red carpet event. This is the 5th year of existence for the festival, which brings together creatives in the Film, Fashion, Artistic and related technical industries to celebrate their craft twice a year. The event is held in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, and I attended the latter, at Shepstone Gardens.

Cell C Inanda Africa Cup Polo Tournament

Unpredictable, thrilling, addictive – however you choose to describe the game of polo, the “sport of kings” remains a narrative of history defined as an origin that primarily involves, horsemanship, team spirit, sportsmanship, trust and respect.

I have attended two previous Africa Cup Polo tournaments, and each time was a thrill, as there is an air of sophistication that only polo has.

The 2018 Cell C Inanda Africa Cup Polo Tournament, offers an action-packed day with a display of exceptional horsemanship amongst competing teams from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe, with the closely contested and fast paced final, witnessed by a premium audience of 3500+ people annually.
