Ster-Kinekor has announced that RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ, the theatrical release chronicling Beyoncé’s record-setting global RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR, will play at its movie theatres beginning 1 December. Tickets are officially on sale now at www.sterkinekor.com and at all its participating locations.
RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ accentuates the journey of the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR – a record-setting worldwide concert tour that spanned 56 shows, 39 cities and 12 countries – from its inception to the opening show in Stockholm, Sweden, to the grand finale in Kansas City, Missouri. It is about Beyoncé’s intention, hard work and involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy and master her craft.
The ultimate ABBA party is about to hit Ster-Kinekor cinemas, for two days only on 08 and 10 October.
Have the time of your life when ABBA: The Movie dances into cinemas for a special two-day fan event! Captured by director Lasse Hallström during the iconic group’s mega-successful tour of Australia, this newly remastered film will take you on a flashback journey to the 1970s when disco reigned supreme and ABBA was music royalty.
Including backstage footage as well as full-length performances of some of ABBA’s greatest hits including “Dancing Queen”, “SOS”, “Name Of The Game” and “Waterloo”, the film provides a rare look at the hugely successful band during the height of their popularity.

The campaign will also feature a flagship Amaqhawe playlist featuring Mzansi’s biggest songs, across decades and multiple genres, including the likes of Brenda Fassie, Letta Mbulu and Johnny Clegg through to Miriam Makeba, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Mandoza.

For the duration of August, Apple TV app, will be spotlighting South African storytellers across TV and film in their Women In Power campaign. The work of Micaela Kleinsmith (My Kind of Country), Jodi Balfour (For All Mankind) and Lou Llobell (Foundation) harnesses their innate strength, stirs us to action and inspires us to imagine.
Micaela Kleinsmith showed a penchant for songwriting from the tender age of 14, and after a successful stint on SA Idols in 2016, went on to perform across almost every stage in and around Cape Town in order to hone her live skills. Her onstage vigour served her well as a contestant on the first season of Apple TV+’s My Kind of Country, as Micaela was first championed by masked country South African singer Orville Peck, before going on to be crowned the winner.
Jodi Balfour graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre & Performance at the University of Cape Town, before relocating to Canada and finally settling in Los Angeles, California. As Ellen Wilson in Apple TV+’s drama, For All Mankind, Jodi plays a budding engineer, who becomes one of NASA’s first female astronauts before fiercely pursuing a political career in season 3 that sees her elected as the nation’s 41st president in 1992.
London-based actress, Lou Llobell, grew up in South Africa after her Zimbabwean mother and Spanish father relocated to Pietermaritzburg when she was eight years old. In Apple TV+’s sci-fi series Foundation she portrays Gaal Dornick, a brilliant mathematical prodigy from the repressed water planet of Synnax. Recruited by Hari Seldon, Gaal becomes an integral part of his plan to preserve civilization.
