Johannesburg Homemakers Fair 2024

The Johannesburg HOMEMAKERS Fair is making a triumphant return to the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit and International Convention Centre from 1 to 3 March this year. In celebration of their 30th anniversary, the organisers have meticulously curated a jam-packed event, bursting with exciting exhibitors and vendors, promising a more spectacular experience than ever before.

TikTok Celebrates African Creativity at the 2023 Top Creator Awards

On February 9, TikTok honoured the region’s most outstanding content creators at the 2023 Top Creator Awards, powered by Vodacom NXT LVL. Held at Vodacom World, Johannesburg, this gala event celebrated TikTok’s vibrant community’s creativity, innovation, and dedication across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The awards ceremony not only spotlighted exceptional content across various categories but also emphasised TikTok’s commitment to empowering creators. By offering resources and monetisation opportunities, the platform is pivotal in enabling creators to pursue their passions sustainably.

Bianca Sibiya, TikTok’s Head of Content Operations in Sub-Saharan Africa, shared that the awards are designed to inspire, guide, and empower the next generation of talent. “The #TopCreator2023 awards give us an opportunity to recognise and celebrate our talented content creators from across the continent. Africa Soul Returns to Theatre On The Square

AFRICA SOUL is a first for South Africa. Their music is pure soul and blues;  taking ever popular hit songs such as I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Kiss and Say Goodbye, Mustang Sally, Respect and I Feel Good from the 1950’s/1960’s era but most importantly and uniquely, re-working those well-known classics with African harmonies and lyrics, and in such a way, bringing songs from a bygone era to today’s audience of both an older and younger generation, to either reminisce about, or to hear for the first time. The collaboration of songs from the American South, to the African South also includes some South African soul classics, including all-time local favourite Vulindlela and Loloiwe.

All You Need To Know About The NFL Super Bowl 2024

It’s almost here. The 58th annual showdown between the top American Football teams, the 2024 American National Football League’s Super Bowl takes place this month and will broadcast live, exclusively across Africa on ESPN (Dstv 218, Starsat 248) and on ESPN2 (DStv 249) from 1:30 AM (CAT) on Monday 12 February 2024.

One of the most celebrated events on the U.S. sporting calendar, the annual championship game that will see the league’s top franchises competing to hold the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy, will be repeated later in the day. On ESPN2, there will be rull repeats at 08:00 and 20:00, with a 14:00 slot scheduled for ESPN. A highlights package will air later in the week with broadcast slots to be confirmed. Extending beyond sport, the Super Bowl is a truly global cultural event, with high-entertainment value accompanying a nail-biting game.

Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa’s (Zeitz MOCAA’s) highly anticipated Gala event is set to feature exclusive performances from South African Singer Songwriter Simphiwe Dana as well as Nobuhle Ashtani Trio. The museum recently announced a collaboration with acclaimed South African artist Athi-Patra Ruga ahead of its highly anticipated Gala event taking place on Sunday, 11 February 2024. The event promises to be an extraordinary celebration of art kicking off Cape Town Art Week that rolls out with Investec Cape Town Art Fair and multiple  artistic activations around the city. This event will feature an Exclusive Auction from a line-up of revered artists raising funds to support the museum’s curatorial and education programming.
