Nomzamo Mbatha Named First-Ever South African Ambassador for Creme of Nature

Global beauty icon, award-winning actress and celebrated humanitarian Nomzamo Mbatha has been officially named the first-ever South African ambassador for Creme of Nature, the iconic American-born haircare brand with over 65 years of legacy. Known for its dedication to textured hair and roots in celebrating African beauty, Creme of Nature has now launched in South Africa with its landmark
campaign, Rooted in Radiance.

Creme of Nature’s expansion into the South African market marks a powerful new chapter for the
beloved brand. It is now available at Clicks, Dis-Chem, TakeAlot and Amazon and will launch
in Checkers in July 2025. With a deep respect for the heritage and self-expression of textured
hair, the Rooted in Radiance campaign is more than a tagline; it’s a movement. At its core lies a
bold truth: hair is more than just strands; it is a legacy, an identity, and a radiant symbol of
confidence.

I attended the launch event last night, and below is the video of the highlights:

For 137 years, National Geographic has been bringing you breathtaking wildlife footage of iconic animals – penguins, elephants, whales and more. Hold on to your binoculars, folks, as Nat Geo gets up close and personal with the outcasts of the animal kingdom in UNDERDOGS, narrated by Ryan Reynolds. From their hidden talents to their unconventional hygiene choices to their unsavory courtship rituals, UNDERDOGS celebrates the unique behaviors of the animals who don’t usually get to be the stars of the show.

From Reynolds’ Emmy® Award-winning Maximum Effort and Emmy® and BAFTA Award-Winning Wildstar Films (a Fremantle company), National Geographic’s UNDERDOGS will premiere on Saturdays at 18:00 (CAT), from 21 June on National Geographic Wild (DStv 182, StarTimes 221), and will also be available on Disney+ in South Africa.

View the trailer below:

“Getting to work with National Geographic on UNDERDOGS was a dream come true – mostly because I can finally watch a project of ours with my children. Technically, they saw “Deadpool & Wolverine” but I don’t think they absorbed much while covering their eyes and ears and screaming for two hours,” said Reynolds. “We’re so proud to elevate the unsung heroes of the natural world to the top of the entertainment food chain and can’t wait for everyone to see.”

Eastgate Shopping Centre Enhances Accessibility for Deaf Shoppers

According a recent report, approximately 4 million people in South Africa are Deaf or hard-of-hearing. Eastgate Shopping Centre in Johannesburg has announced a collaboration with Convo South Africa to improve accessibility for this community.

Real-time support at key service points

Through this partnership, Eastgate now provides on-demand access to South African Sign Language (SASL) interpreters at customer service points across the centre. Deaf and hard-of-hearing shoppers are able to scan QR codes displayed at these points to connect with an interpreter via video call. The service is quick, intuitive and offered at no cost to the customer. Marking a meaningful step in the centre’s drive to offer a more inclusive shopping experience, the initiative is now live.

“Inclusivity should not be an afterthought,” says Saadiyah Kahn, General Manager at Eastgate Shopping Centre. “We’ve been looking closely at how we can better accommodate shoppers with varying needs, and this partnership with Convo is an important first move. We are committed to ensuring every customer feels seen, understood and respected.”
