DStv offers Disney Channel in an open window this winter break

DStv viewers are in for a treat this school holiday, as Disney Channel (DStv, Channel 303) will be opening to DStv Family and Access customers from Saturday, 15 June – Sunday, 7 July. To celebrate, Disney Channel has collected super-sized doses of fun, laughter and adventure, including returning films and seasons of fan favourites as well as brand new live-action and animation series.

Special holiday programming that customers will be able to dive into, includes a mix of new series from Pretty Freekin’ Scary S1 to Chip ‘n Dale: Park Life S2 to old friends on Bunk’d: Against the Ropes S7 and more in-between. A very special Saturday Movie Night block will be launched at 19:30 (VAT) and kicks off on 15 June with the iconic Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) High School Musical – following the gifted students at East High, the film broke barriers and stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale.

Other movies include High School Musical 2 on 22 June; brand-new animated movie Night at The Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again on 29 June and on 6 July Lego Marvel Avengers: Code Red, all at 19:30 CAT.

Wonderbag Helps Those In Need Post KZN Tornado

On the 3rd of June 2024, a devastating tornado tore through Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, leaving a trail of destruction and heartbreak. Over two thousand people have been displaced, and the damage to major infrastructure such as roads and schools is extensive. Tongaat also being home to Wonderbag’s factory, meant the impact of the natural disaster was felt directly by this ‘global’ business whose staff members from the area lost their homes and personal belongings in a matter of seconds.

“As of yesterday, the death toll has risen to 11. Sadly 10 of our dedicated staff members lost their homes in a matter of seconds as the tornado struck. Visiting the devastated area, it was as if 10,000 bulldozers had torn through, destroying everything in their path. Not only for the sake of our affected staff members – but for all those in the community, our community, we need to do what we can to uplift those who have suffered loss. The Wonderbag can at least provide some comfort by ensuring hot meals for those affected. Wonderbag is also supporting rebuilding houses and providing food to cook nutrious meals for affected people and families. The donations that we receive will go toward people in the area that have lost everything. Our mission has always been deeply humanitarian, inclusive, and apolitical, focusing on feeding people, preserving dignity, and championing global freedom of choice,” said Collins.

Inaugural Mzansi Food & Drink Show

Set to become one of South Africa’s biggest culinary extravaganzas, the inaugural Mzansi Food & Drink Show will rock the Kyalami International Convention Centre from 15 to 17 June 2024.

This is the brainchild of RX Africa, the company behind some of the country’s premiere events, including Decorex, Comic Con Africa, Africa Travel Week and FAME Week Africa, and the Ring of Fire Chilli Festival.

The three-day event will incorporate two previous independently held events, the popular Fire & Feast Meat Festival and the successful Coffee & Chocolate Expo, as well as three new additions – the Fine Food & Wine Show, the Bar & Good Spirits Showcase and the Mzansi Food Market.
