Bassem Youssef’s Middle Beast Tour: South Africa 2025

Celebrated Egyptian-American comedian and satirist Bassem Youssef is set to make his South African debut with The Middle Beast Tour in February 2025Brought to you by Blu Blood in association with Gift of the Givers Foundation, the tour kicks off on 7th February at Durban ICC before heading to CTICC in Cape Town on 8th February and wraps up on 9th February at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.

In Bassem Youssef’s one of a kind solo comedy performance, the audience is taken on a personal journey from Bassem’s career as a heart surgeon in Egypt to finding himself in the middle of the Arab Spring and becoming the host of the largest political satire show in the history of the Arab World. His jokes earned him worldwide recognition as “The Egyptian Jon Stewart,” but also got him arrested, interrogated, and ultimately prompted his escape to America just as the country was going through its very own identity crisis.

Riaad Moosa invites along some of his comedy cohorts for a much-needed dose of laughter to help us cope with our daily grind in THE BEST MEDICINE SHOW on the 1st and 2nd November 2024 at Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace (Johannesburg).  

With a knack for turning everyday struggles and national issues into hilarious stand-up routines, Riaad ensures that no topic is too serious to be laughed at.  Expect a night filled with sharp wit, side-splitting jokes and a fresh perspective. The line-up of guest acts will be announced over the coming weeks.

Tracy Morgan – No Disrespect South Africa Tour

Legendary comedian, Tracy Morgan, has announced his 2020 No Disrespect world tour which includes three back-to-back shows around South Africa – Cape Town on the 29th May, Durban on the 30th May and Pretoria on the 31st May.

Tracy Morgan is best known for his appearances on Saturday Night Live and his role as ‘Tracy Morgan’ in seven seasons of NBC’s Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning, 30 Rock, opposite Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.  His film credits include Paramount’s rom-com film, What Men Want with Taraji P. Henson and The Longest Yard opposite Adam Sandler and he has also lent his voice to hit animations Rio, Rio 2 and the Oscar-nominated, Boxtrolls.   Across his career, he has had stand-up specials on Netflix, HBO and Comedy Central and has headlined comedy tours and festivals around the world.

Morgan can currently be seen in the second season of TBS’ The Last OG, which has recently been renewed for a third season.  He can next be heard voicing the role of Fox in Netflix’s Green Eggs & Ham, as well as Caption Caveman in the upcoming 2020 feature, Scoob.

Married…But Not To Each Other (New Comedy Show)

Marriage is much like a road trip with its ups and downs (and potholes along the way) and Ndumiso Lindi and Tumi Morake are no strangers to the concept!  Back by popular demand, Ndumiso and Tumi are hitting the road again with their hilarious stand-up comedy show, Married…But Not To Each Other.  It’s not a show just about marriage, it’s about the world that these marriages have to survive in.

The comedy duo will be opening the 2019 season on the 24th of May at the Soweto Theatre, 1st of June at the Flamingo Casino in Kimberley and the 8th of June at PACOFS in Bloemfontein – with additional dates to follow.  The show has already seen successful runs in Pretoria, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Mafikeng, Botswana, Port Elizabeth, Krugersdorp, Durban, Secunda and Nelspruit.
