From Everest to Impact: One Woman’s Summit Delivers 8,849 Acts of Dignity Across South Africa

One year after summiting Mount Everest via the North Side, South African mountaineer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Angela Yeung has fulfilled a promise that began at 8,849 metres above sea level.

For every metre climbed on Everest, one bra was pledged to restore dignity to women and girls affected by Gender-Based Violence and vulnerable living conditions across South Africa.

Yesterday, all 8,849 bras collected through the Impilo Collection Foundation’s #EmpowerHer campaign were distributed across all nine provinces through shelters, women’s organisations, and frontline support structures.

The 13th Annual Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards

South Africa’s biggest night in comedy took over Gold Reef City, The Lyric Theatre, on Saturday, 2nd May, as the country’s finest comedic talent gathered for the 13th Annual Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards.

This year’s show embraced the theme A Family Affair. Celebrating comedy for what it truly is: a wonderfully chaotic, brilliantly dysfunctional family where everyone has a role to play, and no one holds back on the punchlines.

Review: The Devil Wears Prada 2

I attended the premiere of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” last week, courtesy of Disney Studios Africa.

Two decades later, the heels are higher, the comebacks are sharper, and the fashion world is still as cutthroat as ever,  but this time, it comes with a layer of introspection we didn’t quite expect.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 doesn’t just revisit a cultural moment, it redefines it for where we are now. And as someone who remembers the original shaping my own views on ambition, career, and identity, this one felt a lot more personal.

The film picks up in a world that has dramatically shifted, digital disruption, influencer culture, and the slow death of traditional print media all form the backdrop. Review: Pretty Woman – The Musical

If you are looking for a night of pure, unadulterated nostalgia wrapped in high-energy theatre, then “Pretty Woman: The Musical” at Montecasino’s Teatro is a mandatory stop. It isn’t just a stage adaptation; it is a vibrant, rhythmic tribute to a story that defined a generation of romantic comedies.

A Cinematic Experience on Stage:

One of the most impressive feats of this production is its ability to honor the source material while carving out its own identity. It hits every major story beat with precision, the iconic red dress, the high-stakes polo match, and that famous jewelry box snap, ensuring fans of the film feel right at home. The transition from screen to stage is seamless, using clever set changes that transport you instantly from the gritty streets of Hollywood Boulevard to the gilded luxury of the Beverly Wilshire.
