Legendary R&B and soul singer, Johnny Gill, is heading to South Africa and set to captivate audiences with his live concerts at Sun City on Friday, 21 June and Time Square on Saturday, 22 June 2024.

Some fast facts about the American singer-songwriter and actor include:

·       He has sold over 15 million copies worldwide as a solo artist.

·       He is the sixth and final member of the R&B/pop group New Edition.

·       He was a member of the super group called LSG, with Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat.

·       Gill has received two Grammy Award nominations: one with New Edition and one as a solo artist.

·       He has released eight solo albums, three albums with New Edition, two albums with LSG, and one collaborative album with Stacy Lattisaw.

Africa Soul Returns to Theatre On The Square

AFRICA SOUL is a first for South Africa. Their music is pure soul and blues;  taking ever popular hit songs such as I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Kiss and Say Goodbye, Mustang Sally, Respect and I Feel Good from the 1950’s/1960’s era but most importantly and uniquely, re-working those well-known classics with African harmonies and lyrics, and in such a way, bringing songs from a bygone era to today’s audience of both an older and younger generation, to either reminisce about, or to hear for the first time. The collaboration of songs from the American South, to the African South also includes some South African soul classics, including all-time local favourite Vulindlela and Loloiwe.
