Bianca Del Rio’s “It’s Jester Joke” 2019 Tour

Comedy queen and RuPaul’s Drag Race champion Bianca Del Rio is heading back to Africa by popular demand.

Following her sell-out South African dates last year, the Queen of Mean has announced that she will be returning to Cape Town and Johannesburg in August 2019 with her brand new comedy show ‘It’s Jester Joke’.

On her most ambitious world solo drag show to date, the self-proclaimed ‘Clown in a Gown’ tells tales of her world travels and the outrageous circus that is her life. Irreverent to the core and fabulously fierce, Bianca’s no-holds-barred style of comedy will once again shock and delight audiences. With her acerbic wit, a ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ manner and hilarious views on everything from politics to family, social media and all that lies in between, Bianca Del Rio has garnered a massive international following and has become one the biggest drag superstars in the world today.

Mark Banks on Ice! (Random Acts of Comedy)

Mark Banks has come out of hibernation to bring you his new One Man stand-up show called Mark Banks On Ice! Some nights, the Russian All-Star Mints will make a guest appearance.

This year, Mark is turning sixty and would love you to come celebrate his birthday with him in what is his favourite way to celebrate: You staring at him longingly and laughing as he talks non-stop for over an hour without anyone talking back to him.

In this completely new show, he will discuss all the things you’ve been thinking about – extreme Jo’burg security measures, Elon Musk’s plans for world domination, running into people from your high school who haven’t died yet and coping with life in general!

In Mark Banks on Ice, Mark will amaze you with jokes while “jete-ing” across the stage. He will wow you with his intellect while pirouetting on one toe. He will stun you with moves that don’t even have a name in French.

Will there be characters? Yes. Will there be plot twists? Definitely. Will there be ice? Hard to say.

Tickets are available from the Box Office at Montecasino and Computicket.

Tickets range from R130 – R180.

Show runs from 5 – 30 June 2019.

Wednesday – Saturday at 20h00, Saturday Matinee at 16:00 and Sunday Matinee at 15:00.

Mark Banks On Ice! @ The Pieter Toerien Theatre in Montecasino.

Avengers: Endgame (Not a Review)

I saw Avengers: Endgame yesterday, like the rest of the planet. Am I a comic book fan? No. But I had such severe FOMO that I was compelled to go see it.

I had to watch its predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War to quickly catch up with the story line. That done, hubby and I popped off to the IMAX in CradleStone Mall – because how else are you going to watch Avengers Endgame if not on a gigantic screen with surround sound, hey? He is the one who watches more comic book movies and TV series, but I wound up answering his questions about “Who is that character again?”

I am not going to risk “life and limb” by doing an actual review of the movie because … did you see that Facebook story about the guy in Hong Kong who was beaten up because he shouted out spoilers to a line of waiting patrons who were about to see the movie. Instead, here are some interesting facts and figures about the box office takings thus far in South, East and West Africa, for Avengers Endgame.
