I was fortunate to be sent a selection of four Healing Earth products from their Pinotage range, to review recently. I’ve been using these products for the past few weeks and here are my thoughts.

Five Fab Fashion Feeds
We all need inspiration from the “inter-web” almost on a daily basis, so I have rounded up my “Five Fab Fashion Feeds” for you, in no particular order.
1. Refinery 29 www.refinery29.com
This website is a combination of fashion, lifestyle, beauty, breaking general news, entertainment and wellness. I subscribe to the daily newsletter, in order to keep up to date with the latest trends. The articles are short and sharp giving you all the info you need in 5 or 6 paragraphs. It is one of those sites where you click on one article, then you get distracted by another, and another, and before you know it, you’ve spent an hour on the site, sharing the articles on Pinterest and Facebook. Addictive reading indeed.
Calvin Klein Opens First Store in SA at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town
My first Calvin Klein exposure as a teenager was the iconic Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss cK Jeans ads. Like many teens back in the late 80’s, I too had this ad campaign on my wall, thinking that it was the coolest thing since sliced bread!
When Calvin Klein launched their perfume called Escape, back in the early 1990’s, it quickly became my most desired perfume, but at that time, no cK products were readily available in South Africa. I had found samples of it in international magazines and it immediately went on to my wish list.
Land Rover Africa Cup Polo Tournament at the Inanda Club
I was pleasantly surprised when an invite for the Land Rover Africa Cup 2014 Polo Tournament popped into my inbox. The first thing I thought was “What does one wear to a polo match?” After some “research” I was relieved to see that it did not really involve fascinators and the like. But that did not stop Jen Su from wearing one. Of course, unusual hats are her trademark, and I bet that she has Philip Treacy and Albertus Swanepoel (renowned milliners) on speed dial.
How to do HD Make-Up
I had the privilege of working with one of South Africa’s leading film and television make-up artists, Hester Magson, while working on the SABC1 show Spirit Sundae.
Hester has a make-up “spray gun” of sorts that she imported from the USA. It is used to apply foundation in even distribution, and the results, especially when viewing in HD, are amazing.
I asked Hester more about this wonderful technique, and below is a video that demonstrates this method.
