Mall of Africa: Coolest Mall for 7 Years

Mall of Africa has once again solidified its place at the pinnacle of youth culture, winning the coveted “Coolest Mall” title for an incredible seventh consecutive year at the 2024 Sunday Times Generation Next Awards. This accolade is based on South Africa’s leading youth survey, conducted by HDI Youth Marketeers, which captures the preferences of no less than 12,000 young South Africans aged 8–24.

With an unrivalled bouquet of 300 retail offerings, groundbreaking initiatives, and constant innovation, Mall of Africa remains the ultimate destination for the trend-conscious and style-savvy.

Johann Fourie, general manager at Mall of Africa, attributes this achievement to the mall’s unwavering commitment to freshness and its ability to connect with South Africa’s influential youth demographic. “The youth are trendsetters with significant spending power and influence over the rest of the market. Their high consumption of social media content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram sharpens their role as early adopters and opinion leaders. Winning this title for seven consecutive years reflects our commitment to staying relevant, exciting, and accessible to this dynamic audience,” he added.

From a truly impressive field of contestants, three exceptional women emerged to claim their crowns at the spectacular and star-studded finale event held at the Theatre of Marcellus in Emperors Palace on Friday, 15 November 2024.

“The journey has been nothing short of a lifechanging experience,” Miller said shortly after being crowned. “The Mrs South Africa dream is free and attainable to anyone who’s motivated to reach for it. However, it’s on you to put in the effort to become your best self, to push through the difficult moments that exist to teach resilience, and to accept that you can and should lean on your fellow sisters. I’m blessed to wear this crown, and truly thankful for the support every person has shown me along this road.”

Miller’s victory marks the culmination of an intensive, year-long campaign of self-development that tested the finalists’ leadership abilities and potential for personal growth. As the new Mrs South Africa, she will represent the country at various international competitions and champion her various philanthropic projects throughout her reign.
