I recently attended the launch of the latest Magnum pop up store in Nelson Mandela Square, and all I can say is “Please may I have some more?”

H & M Opens in Sandton City
I attended the media launch of the Johannesburg branch of H&M last week, which officially opened in Sandton City on Saturday, 7 November. The Balmain X collaboration with H&M has been a worldwide success, if the international media is anything to go by, with the Paris, New York and yes, the local branches, having sold out in a matter of minutes.
I witnessed this first hand, at the launch evening last week. The doors opened at 19h00 and by 19h27 the Balmain racks were empty!
Forever 21 Opens in Johannesburg
Forever 21 opened its doors in Nelson Mandela Square in Johannesburg this past Saturday, 17 October 2015. I was invited to the media launch last week, and found other “fashionistas” who were as eager as I, to get a first glance at the merchandise on offer.
I would say Forever 21, as the name suggests, is aimed at the teenage to late 20’s market, with some items geared towards the older age groups. The prices are very attractive and affordable for most items. There are some statements pieces that retail for around R450, such as this little number that I have my eye on.
“Captain” Marc Lottering takes off with new show
I first met Marc Lottering back in 2009 when I was a Producer for the SABC1 show Spirit Sundae, and I can truly say that he is as down to earth in real life as he is on stage. His latest show has an aviation theme, and the characters that he portrays are cleverly linked to this theme. “This is Captain Lottering Speaking” is currently on at the Pieter Toerien Montecasino Theatre and Studio. Mr Lottering never disappoints in the humour department, you’ll laugh so much, you’ll need tissues for the tears and smudged mascara!
Land Rover Africa Cup Polo Tournament at the Inanda Club
I was pleasantly surprised when an invite for the Land Rover Africa Cup 2014 Polo Tournament popped into my inbox. The first thing I thought was “What does one wear to a polo match?” After some “research” I was relieved to see that it did not really involve fascinators and the like. But that did not stop Jen Su from wearing one. Of course, unusual hats are her trademark, and I bet that she has Philip Treacy and Albertus Swanepoel (renowned milliners) on speed dial.
