Following on from its local and international sold-out concerts in 2023 and early 2024 engagements abroad, the Queen: It’s a Kinda Magic tribute show returns to Joburg Theatre – but this time performing for the first time ever with a Rock Symphony Orchestra – in the iconic Mandela Theatre from 5 April to 14 April 2024. It’s a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and wildlife through the lens of South Africa’s finest photographers.

The exhibition is on from Friday, 5 April from 09h00 – 15h00 and Saturday, 6 April, from 09h00 – 12h00 at Orms Showroom, 56 Roeland St, Cape Town City Centre and there is no entrance fee.

Africa Soul Returns to Theatre On The Square

AFRICA SOUL is a first for South Africa. Their music is pure soul and blues; taking ever popular hit songs such as I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Kiss and Say Goodbye, Mustang Sally, Respect and I Feel Good from the 1950’s/1960’s era but most importantly and uniquely, re-working those well-known classics with African harmonies and lyrics, and in such a way, bringing songs from a bygone era to today’s audience of both an older and younger generation, to either reminisce about, or to hear for the first time. The collaboration of songs from the American South, to the African South also includes some South African soul classics, including all-time local favourite Vulindlela and Loloiwe.

Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa’s (Zeitz MOCAA’s) highly anticipated Gala event is set to feature exclusive performances from South African Singer Songwriter Simphiwe Dana as well as Nobuhle Ashtani Trio. The museum recently announced a collaboration with acclaimed South African artist Athi-Patra Ruga ahead of its highly anticipated Gala event taking place on Sunday, 11 February 2024. The event promises to be an extraordinary celebration of art kicking off Cape Town Art Week that rolls out with Investec Cape Town Art Fair and multiple artistic activations around the city. This event will feature an Exclusive Auction from a line-up of revered artists raising funds to support the museum’s curatorial and education programming.

Joburg Film Festival 2024
