Last night, 28 April 2026, Johannesburg turned into its very own slice of Manhattan as the official South African special screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2 unfolded at Ster-Kinekor Eastgate inside Eastgate Shopping Centre.
Two decades after The Devil Wears Prada first redefined fashion cinema, the sequel arrived with all the glamour, elegance, and unapologetic sophistication one would expect from the world of Runway Magazine.
More than 500 invited guests, including media personalities, fashion insiders, celebrities, influencers, and industry tastemakers, stepped into an evening where fashion was not just worn, but performed. The dress code? Runway Ready, of course.

Guests embraced bold silhouettes, elevated couture-inspired looks, and statement-making glamour as they entered through one of the evening’s most talked-about installations: the iconic life-size red stiletto from the film’s global press tour. Hosted by the ever-stylish Pamela Mtanga, the activation transformed arrivals into their own red-carpet fashion moments.

The evening’s live runway experience elevated the screening into a true fashion spectacle, where cinema and couture seamlessly collided.
Held in proud association with Vodacom, Samsung, Mercedes-Benz and The Fix, the event celebrated luxury, innovation, and modern style.
Samsung and Vodacom unveiled their exciting new retail offering for Vodacom subscribers, the sleek new Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, while Mercedes-Benz gave guests an exclusive glimpse of the soon-to-be-released Maybach model, effortlessly embodying VIP luxury.

Meanwhile, The Fix brought its exclusive The Devil Wears Prada 2 capsule collection to life, proving once again that fashion doesn’t end when the credits roll.
Among the star-studded guest list were some of South Africa’s most recognisable names, including Bonang Matheba, Pabi Moloi, Loot Love, Zozibini Tunzi, Thebe Magugu and many more, alongside leading voices from the local fashion industry including Craig Jacobs and Ephraim Molingoana.
Their presence was a reminder that The Devil Wears Prada remains far more than a film, it is a cultural fashion institution.
And yes, Miranda Priestly is back.
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci reunite as Miranda Priestly, Andy Sachs, Emily Charlton and Nigel Kipling, taking audiences once again into the polished chaos of New York fashion publishing.
Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the sequel promises sharp wit, elevated style, and the kind of deliciously intimidating glamour we’ve all secretly missed.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 opens in cinemas across South Africa from 30 April 2026, and darling, this is one release you absolutely do not want to be late for.
