It’s not every day that one gets to test drive a Maserati, so I jumped at the chance to experience this first hand, when I got invited to the launch of Tsogo Sun’sDream Chaser promotion.
A total of R9 million in cash and cars are up for grabs, including three sexy Maserati Ghiblis that could be yours, with the Dream Chaser promotion, taking place at three of Gauteng’s premier entertainment destinations – Gold Reef City,Montecasino and Silverstar Casino.
Montecasino, in association with Marshall Music & Sony ATV, has expanded their entertainment offering by staging a massive two-day, picnic-style musical festival that speaks to a vibrant and colourful South Africa: Jam Jozi! Taking place from the 29th – 30th October 2016, Gauteng’s premier entertainment destination will bring you some of South Africa’s finest local bands, DJs and musicians such as Jack Parow, Matthew Mole, Al Bairre, GoodLuck and Mafikizolo – all on one stage. With a weekend pass costing just R150 allowing access to over 20 performances, this unique festival is destined to become a firm favourite on the events calendar amongst avid local music lovers.
3Sixty recently launched their new menu, with a 10 course tasting menu to selected media. Mzansi Life & Style was lucky enough to be part of this selection.
Blake Anderson was appointed as the Complex Executive Chef of Gauteng’s premier entertainment destination, Montecasino, in October last year and, having spent the first six months settling in to the challenges of running a 24/7 operation, has now turned his significant culinary talents to reinventing the menu of the property’s trademark restaurant on the casino floor.
Trevor Noah is the talk of the town, internationally and locally, and Mzansi is ever so proud of of our “Man in NYC” – a local who is really making it as big as Charlize Theron. Well done to this Son of Africa! Trevor Noah is the best South African comedian, in my opinion, as this view was solidified when I saw him at his recent SA performance at Montecasino. He was on point, topical and so sleek.
The show broadcasts in the USA on 28 September (as can be seen in the below teaser for the show) but it launches in South Africa on Tuesday, 29 September at 9pm on Comedy Central, DSTV channel 122. I have already put a note in my iPhone to PVR the entire season, so looking forward to it.
I first saw Russell Brand playing the role of rocker ‘Aldous Snow’ in the Judd Apatow-produced box office hit comedy ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ a few years ago.
Here’s a clip to jog your memory:
Since then, Russell Brand, has starred in several films including ‘Rock Of Ages’, ‘Arthur’, ‘Hop’, ‘Get Him To The Greek’, Bedtime Stories’, ‘The Tempest’, ‘Paradise’ and the voice of ‘Dr. Nefario’ in the hugely successful ‘Despicable Me’ series.
But did you know that he is an acclaimed stand up comedian and author, with an acerbic wit and intellect? Beginning his career as a stand-up comedian, Brand rose to fame in 2003 for his appearances on MTV and on “Big Brother” spin-off, “Big Brother’s Big Mouth.” His career really took off with his first nationwide standup tour, ‘Shame’ in 2006, which was released on DVD as ‘Russell Brand: Live’. Brand launched his second nationwide tour in 2007, ‘Russell Brand: Only Joking’ released on DVD as ‘Russell Brand: Doin’ Life’ and in 2009 he brought his stand-up comedy tour to the United States with ‘Russell Brand: Scandalous’.
