SABC 2 is ushering in a fresh chapter, one rooted in authentic South African storytelling, cultural familiarity and a deeper connection to everyday life. This New Era isn’t just a refresh; it’s a confident reimagining of what public broadcasting can look and feel like when it truly reflects its people.

At its heart, this evolution is about relevance. Programming that resonates emotionally. Stories grounded in lived South African experiences. And a channel that knows its audience, understands its purpose and intentionally serves viewers across generations.

As a first taste of what’s to come, SABC 2 is rolling out the first wave of New Era programming, setting the tone, energy and intent ahead of the full channel refresh launching on 9 February 2026.

Back for a new season, this vibrant cooking competition celebrates nutritious meals and South Africa’s rich and diverse culinary heritage.

Paradys starring Lorcia Cooper, Ilse Klink and Zane Meas, is a new Afrikaans telenovela and premieres 23 February 2026 at 19:00.

Together, these shows mark the opening movement of SABC 2’s New Era, a confident first step that signals meaningful change, while laying the foundation for even more to come.
