Sandton welcomed the opening of a new hotel, The Capital On The Park Resort, with a glitzy launch event for invited guests last night. This new, half a billion rand business resort on Katherine Street, will offer business travellers a place where they can stay, work and play.

The hotel has beautifully designed spaces to enjoy an after-work cocktail, while listening to resident DJs play local beats every Friday. The Capital On The Park Resort should become a popular weekend hangout, with their planned Las Vegas themed pool parties around their heated pool.

Earlier this week, Marc Wachsberger, the MD of the Capital Hotel Group, and Natalie Botha, the GM of the The Capital On The Park Resort, took us on a guided tour of the hotel. While showing us the rooms and facilities, they explained their unique, “hotel-meets-apartment” offering. This concept allows investors the opportunity to buy residential apartments, which offers them all the luxury and convenience of hotel living, including 24/7 room service, deli and a small convenience store where one can buy ingredients to cook in your own apartment.

Apartment owners also have the option to lease back their apartments to the Capital Hotel Group, which will essentially mean that the hotel group will guarantee rental and will act as their tenants.
