Kenny G in Jozi

KENNYG Trumpet

I first heard of Kenny G back in 1992 when his album called “Breathless” was released, and my favourite track from that album was “Silhouette.” Now for all those Kenny G fans out there, the good news is that he is coming to South Africa next month, but the bad news, is that at this point, it is literally for “one night only” which is at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg, on Thursday, 20 November 2014 at 8pm.

Presented by Canoc Productions in association with Mzansi Magic Music and 702, the Kenny G concert is a special performance set to enthrall his many local fans and lovers of contemporary and smooth jazz. “We are exceptionally pleased to bring this phenomenally successful GRAMMY Award winning artist to perform in South Africa,” says Pleasure Letsoalo, Managing Director and Founder of Canoc Productions who also brought Trey Songz, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Chris Brown and Maxwell to this country.

Kenny G (real name Kenneth Bruce Gorelick) has had a remarkable career, and he is one of the best selling artists of all time. In a recording career that spans almost three decades and 23 albums, Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kenny G has grafted elements of R&B, pop and Latin to a jazz foundation solidifying his reputation as the premiere artist in contemporary jazz. Since the early 1980s, his combination of unparalleled instrumental chops and indelible melodies has resulted in sales of more than 75 million records worldwide (45 million in the U.S. alone) and more than a dozen climbs to the top of Billboard’s contemporary jazz chart.
