Lovisa Loves

Lovisa pic

I was at Clearwater Mall recently, and happened upon the Lovisa sale that is currently on. They have an amazing deal whereby you can buy 3 necklaces for R100, so naturally I bought 6! The above pic is of 4 as I gave the other 2 away as gifts.

I love that the designs are dainty yet trendy. Just have a look at my Pinterest board called “Jewellery Wish List” to see that these Lovisa designs are bang on trend. There is also a similarity to Jennifer Meyer’s range (the likes of which can be seen on the necks of Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox). Read an earlier blog post about my love of Jennifer Meyer jewellery here.

There is one more month before spring, and I am excited to show off this range in weather that does not require thick scarves 24/7!

Happy shopping!

Daily Dish Winner Announced

lamb sliders

I recently wrote a review of the Daily Dish, an online service where one can order a menu, and the recipes and ingredients are delivered to you. I had a R1000 giveaway to offer one lucky subscriber of Mzansi Life & Style, with thanks to the Daily Dish, and the winner is Lucky Mereki, from Johannesburg. Congratulations!

Daily Dish Review and Giveaway

How often do you hear the following question: “What’s for dinner?” I hear it everyday and cringe at the thought. So I was pleasantly surprised when the Daily Dish contacted me to review their service.

This is how it works:

Log onto www.dailydish.co.za and select a menu. At present, they have 5 menus to choose from: Classic, Low Carb, Vegetarian, Budget and Pork Free. The nifty novelty about the Daily Dish, is that they send you the recipe cards (printed on high quality A4 glossy paper) as well as the exact measured ingredients that are needed for the dishes. I am a firm believer that, if you can read and follow instructions, then you can cook. And this is the basis of Daily Dish.

Melrose Arch Hotel Girls Night Out Blogger Event

IMG_5305

I was recently intrigued by an email with the subject line “When last did you have a Girls Night Out?” Upon further inspection, it was an invitation from African Pride Hotels to spend a night with my “bestie” at the Melrose Arch Hotel in Johannesburg.

So off Leigh-Che Mackays and I went in anticipation of a long overdue GNO (Girls Night Out). We were greeted by the Marketing Manager, Jenni Davidson, and shown to our comfy twin bed room.

Later, we met for drinks in the Sound Room, where I met the General Manager, Tanya Malan, as well as fellow bloggers Zaahirah Bhamjee from Complete Disbelief, Jessica Franks from Jesska.co.za and Martha Van Zyl from Syllable in the City.  It was a cosy ensemble of 4 bloggers, including myself, and our BFFs. Tanya explained that the Sound Room, which is just at the entrance of the Library Lounge, is available for hire for private events.

After everyone arrived, we had a tour of the hotel. Now, I have been to the Melrose Arch Hotel many times before, and even had  a “staycation” there once, but I did not realise how much it really has to offer.
