Every now and again, one finds little ambrosial gems right in your own back yard, or as I discovered today, less than a kilometre away from home, in Boskruin Office Park. Yes, Urban Angel Cafe is situated in an office park in Boskruin, Johannesburg but don’t let that deter you. Reasonable prices and fresh food are always a hit in my book, and both can be found at Urban Angel Cafe.

I had the Mushroom & Avo stack (R58) with a pineapple, orange & ginger fresh raw juice, served in a biggish Consol jar. (R30)

My husband, Siraaj Cassiem, actually found this cafe on the food review app called Zomato, and we decided to check it out. It is also a bakery and we got lovely gingerbread people biscuits on the way out.

It is a bit of a challenge to locate, I have to admit, but simply use the slip path at the side of the Nineteen 69 Pub in Boskruin Village Shopping Centre and pass the boom into the office park. Talking of which, I was also pleasantly surprised to find a funky looking hair salon called Craig & Tammy Hair Studio, as well as Just For Me Nail Bar in the same office park, which are definitely worth checking out (and a possible review) later on.

So, if you find yourself in my neck of the woods, that is, in Boskruin, Johannesburg, then do yourself a favour and pop by for a meal and a healthy, organic juice at Urban Angel Cafe. I especially love their “About Us” tab on their website, which you check out here.
