WeBuyCars Joins Forces with Stinger GC

Two proudly South African brands are joining forces to grow the game of golf and uplift communities across the country.

WeBuyCars is thrilled to announce its new partnership with Stinger GC, the all-South African team competing in the global LIV Golf League. This landmark collaboration brings together two homegrown success stories in a shared commitment to excellence, national pride, and building a legacy for South African sport.

“Today marks the beginning of a meaningful partnership between two proudly South African brands,” said Rikus Blomerus, Chief Marketing Officer at WeBuyCars.
“Stinger GC represents excellence, unity, and national pride, values we hold close at WeBuyCars. We are thrilled to support a team that resonates with fans across the country and continues to fly the South African flag globally.”

Celebrated at the WeBuyCars Dome

The partnership was officially launched on 8 December at a high-energy media event hosted at the WeBuyCars Dome in Johannesburg. In attendance were the full Stinger GC squad – Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace, Charl Schwartzel and Dean Burmester – as well as Stinger ambassador and World Rugby Hall of Famer Bryan Habana.

Guests enjoyed interactive challenges, digital fan experiences, and a public meet-and-greet. The energy in the Dome reflected both brands’ shared commitment to growing the game and connecting more South Africans with their heroes in meaningful ways.

A Statement of Identity

For Stinger GC, this partnership goes far beyond branding.

“We’re incredibly proud to welcome WeBuyCars as an official team sponsor of Stinger GC,” said Louis Oosthuizen, Stinger GC team captain.

“Partnering with a homegrown success story that shares our values, ambition and commitment to our country is truly meaningful. Their support extends beyond the team to also include the Stinger GC Foundation, enabling us to positively impact more lives and communities across the nation. Having a proudly South African brand stand with us isn’t just a sponsorship, it’s a statement of who we are and where we come from.”

Strengthening Communities Through the Stinger GC Foundation

A major focus of the partnership is its support of the Stinger GC Foundation, which aims to grow the game by creating access to golf for young South Africans who might not otherwise have the opportunity.

“The Stinger Foundation exists to grow the game of golf by creating opportunities for young South Africans who may not otherwise have access,” said Petrie Cronje, General Manager of the Foundation.
“With WeBuyCars joining us, we now have the resources and reach to expand our programmes and make a greater impact where it matters most.”

The Dome event brought this mission to life through youth-focused storytelling, giveaways, and an inclusive spirit that captured what both brands stand for.

A Shared Drive for Impact

WeBuyCars and Stinger GC share a common belief: that sport is a powerful platform for transformation.

This partnership is about more than performance. It’s about building a legacy, together, that lives beyond the leaderboard and into the lives of everyday South Africans. Whether it’s mentoring young talent or connecting fans to players in new ways, this collaboration is rooted in pride, purpose, and shared identity.
