The Body Shop – Play for Peace Project

I first encountered The Body Shop back in 1995 when I traveled overseas for the first time. I visited my aunt in Hamburg, Germany and there was a huge Body Shop in the train station. It was like being a kid in a candy shop, having heard about all the products, but not having access to any of it, now I finally could savour the delicious selections of body and beauty products. But for the past few years, South Africans have had access to the wonderful ranges that the Body Shop has to offer.

One such range, is the annual Christmas seasonal gift collection and this year it’s dedicated to Play for Peace. I was sent a selection from this Christmas range, so if you still need to buy a gift for that someone special, or need a stocking filler, look no further than this festive and yummy smelling range.

The selection included, amongst others, Frosted Plum Body Butter, a fragrance mist with shimmering particles, metal lip liquid, Japanese Matcha Tea Face Mask, Chinese Ginseng and Rice Milky Toner and Fuji Green Tea Hair Scrub.

Every selected gift set you buy helps support the PEACE PLAY PROJECT, which provides a safe space for children to play and heal. This programme teaches children how to deal with their trauma, cope with their losses and express themselves without violence. This year, The Body Shop is supporting the Sisanda FunDaytion, which is a non-profit organisation based in Cape Town that aims to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children through fun and recreation. With the help of volunteers, they work to educate, inspire and empower our youth as they enjoy the wonders of the world they live in.
